A ride through Saanich makes a great outing. This route avoids a lot of traffic so you can enjoy the day. 1. Start on Interurban Road where it intersects the #1 Highway, near Colquitz Junior Secondary. Ride north on Interurban, past Camosun College, up to West Saanich Road. 2. Turn left and ride West Saanich north until you can bear left onto Wallace Drive. Follow it through the Peninsula, past Stellys Cross Road, past Mt Newton Cross Road, until you can turn right on Amity Drive. 3. Take the overpass crossing and enjoy your shore ride south on Lochside Drive. Turn right on Mount Newton Cross Road, then left onto Central Saanich Road. Follow as it merges with East Saanich Road and then the Pat Bay Highway. 4. Turn right onto Brookleigh Road along Elk Lake, then left down Oldfield Road. Left onto West Saanich Road, then left back down Interurban back to the beginning. Invigorating! |
